The City of Greater Sudbury is proud to announce the first annual Camp Molly taking place from Thursday, August 17 until Sunday, August 20, 2023. Camp Molly is a free, four-day camp that provides young women in grades 11 and 12 the opportunity to perform a variety of firefighting tasks and learn about the different career opportunities within Greater Sudbury Fire Services.

The City of Greater Sudbury is interested in hearing from the community about winter maintenance of sidewalks. Under the current policy, all maintained sidewalks are plowed and sanded once a snow accumulation of 8 cm and/or icy conditions have occurred.

At the Tuesday, February 21 City Council meeting, Greater Sudbury Mayor Paul Lefebvre introduced a motion directing staff to modify the Junction East Cultural Hub.

Following deliberations by the Finance and Administration Committee, City Council approved the 2023 municipal budget, of $708 million, which represents a 4.6 per cent tax increase from 2022.

Interim property tax bills are in the mail. The first installment is due March 3, 2023, and the second is due April 3, 2023.

The deadline to apply for certain property tax rebates on final 2022 property taxes is fast approaching. Applications must be received by the City of Greater Sudbury Tax section by Tuesday, February 28, 2023. 

The City of Greater Sudbury is updating its Solid Waste Management Master Plan. The plan, called the Greater Sudbury Sustainable Waste Strategy, will explore options to achieve the City’s waste management goals and objectives for the next 10 years.

Following testing at the New Sudbury Fire and Paramedic Station, results have come back negative and no asbestos was found.

Residents are invited to attend virtual budget information sessions on Wednesday, February 1 and Monday, February 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. to learn more and ask questions about the proposed 2023 municipal budget.

The Ramsey Lake Skating Path is now open for the season.
