Holiday and PD Day Programming

The City of Greater Sudbury is offering drop-in activities on select holidays and school professional development (PD) days. 

Some drop-in activities are free, and others have a fee for individuals and families. 

 

March Break Art Classes

The City of Greater Sudbury is offering a Wild Art Workshop for Kids (ages 8 to 12) during the March Break.

Minnow Lake Place (upper boardroom)

March 11 to 15, 2024 – 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Pencils, paint, pastels and more - kids will love discovering new techniques and applying them to fun animal themed projects each day of the March Break! All supplies are included.

Skating

Drop by one of our free skating days. All times and locations are subject to change based on events and tournament requirements.  

Skaters must attend the appropriate program to ensure all participants' safety (for example, parents and tots must not skate with adult skaters). 

Only Canadian Standards Association (CSA) approved skating aids are allowed on the ice surface. 

For your safety, please read our Public Skating Rules of Conduct. 

On-ice capacity is limited to 50 people and is first-come, first-serve.

Swimming

Drop in for a PD Day swim, a public swim or a free Feel Free to Feel Fit Swim.  

Admission Standards

Non-Swimmers: 

Any child 6 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult (16 +) and be within arms’ reach at all times. The same rules apply to children between the ages of 7 and 10 who are non-swimmers. 

Swim Test Required: 

Any child between 7 and 10 years of age must perform and successfully pass the swim test. If they do not pass, they must be accompanied by an adult (16+) and be within arms’ reach at all times.
