Campgrounds and Trailer Parks

This past winter, Greater Sudbury experienced unprecedented snow levels and, more recently, flooding in many areas, including in close proximity to municipal campgrounds.

The normal operating season for Centennial Park, Ella Lake Campground and Whitewater Lake Trailer Park is mid-May through late September (weather dependent). However, given the current condition of campgrounds, the City is not able to commit to an opening date for the 2026 season at this time.

All campgrounds are experiencing high water levels. Photos of current conditions at Centennial Park are attached. Until staff are able to access sites and determine ground conditions and any damage resulting from flooding, campers should be prepared for a delayed opening.

The City will provide updates as it assesses the conditions at each site.
