City Updates Waste Wise App to Include Toxic Taxi Appointments

Feb 15, 2023

Residents can now make a Toxic Taxi home collection appointment for Household Hazardous Waste any time, on the City of Greater Sudbury’s popular Waste Wise mobile app or online tool at www.greatersudbury.ca/wastewise.

It’s important to never put hazardous waste in the garbage, toilet, or down any drain. Instead, bring it to the Household Hazardous Waste Depot on Frobisher Street on select Saturdays or contact the Toxic Taxi for home pick up. Both options are free.

Examples of household hazardous waste items are syringes and sharps, medications, batteries, vehicle fluids, paint materials, cleaning products, propane tanks, fire extinguishers, and more. For more examples and information, visit www.greatersudbury.ca/hhw.

Waste must be from a residential source within Greater Sudbury. Residents must be home at the time of Toxic Taxi collection.

Residents can still make appointments by phone by calling 705-560-9019 and leaving a message with your name, phone number, address and type of waste to be collected.

Other Waste Wise features include a collection calendar, collection day reminders and updates, information on how to recycle and dispose of waste items, Blue Box or Green Cart requests, and requesting the collection of large furniture items, appliances or electronics.
