City Not Accepting Special Events Bookings at Municipal Facilities

Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, applications for indoor and outdoor special events on municipal and public properties are not being accepted until further notice.

Special events include, but are not limited to, weddings, festivals and other public gatherings of any size typically held in municipal parks, community centres or on city streets. The City is considering options to address temporary drive-in events this summer.

Public events on private properties may be subject to approval of the City’s planning, building and bylaw departments, as well as provincial regulations that limit the size of indoor and outdoor gatherings. Event organizers must submit an application form available at www.greatersudbury.ca/events to ensure compliance.

The City of Greater Sudbury will immediately contact event organizers to discuss applicable refunds and potential for rescheduling following an evaluation of the local status of COVID-19 later this summer.
