City Seeking Feedback on Sign By-law

May 24, 2019

The City of Greater Sudbury is asking residents to review the recommendations being made to the current sign by-law based on previous feedback from community consultation.

Residents are invited to attend a public session anytime between 1 and 3 p.m. or 6 tand 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at the Northern Water Sports Centre, located at 206 Ramsey Lake Rd.

Signs are highly visible by residents and visitors in the City. They help create the visual character of an area and identify uses to the public.  The signs we see on properties and buildings across Greater Sudbury must adhere to sign by-law standards.

Appropriate sign standards and effective by-law enforcement are the two key factors for achieving and maintaining quality signage in the community. A new sign by-law will regulate signs within the city and outline the provisions of enforcement. Feedback from residents and stakeholders will help inform recommended changes to the sign by-law, which will be presented at a future City Council meeting.

Can’t make the consultation? Submit your feedback online at overtoyou.greatersudbury.ca. Feedback will be accepted after the July 8 Operations Committee meeting until July 22, 2019.-30-
