The Greater Sudbury Civic Awards, which recognize individuals and groups who consistently give back to the community, were presented to one youth group recipient, seven groups and 17 individuals in a ceremony at Tom Davies Square last night.

The City of Greater Sudbury would like to remind citizens that residential tipping fees will be waived at all Greater Sudbury landfill and waste diversion sites from Monday, May 2, to Saturday, May 7, 2016.

With spring having officially arrived in Greater Sudbury, the City has started its spring cleaning activities.

The City of Greater Sudbury is pleased to announce a free drop-in physical activity program for youth in grades 5 to 8. Beginning in April, the weekly program will take place in school gyms and other recreation facilities across the city.

The City of Greater Sudbury advises that the Out of the Cold shelter program will close for the season on Friday, April 15. The Out of the Cold Shelter program was successful this winter in providing a safe place to sleep for persons who are homeless and disengaged from regular shelter programs. 

Filming will take place on Wednesday, April 13 from 5 p.m. to 9 a.m. on April 14 on the sidewalks and street area on Durham Street from Elgin Street to Cedar Street.

The City of Greater Sudbury is inviting residents to show community pride by participating in a two-hour Clean Up Blitz from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016.

The City of Greater Sudbury would like to thank the Government of Canada for its investment of $26.7 million for the Maley Drive Extension Project. This investment is in addition to the investment from the Province of Ontario, allocated through the Building Canada Fund.
