How to Register

The City of Greater Sudbury is working to improve its online registration system. We apologize for any inconvenience.

To Register for City of Greater Sudbury Leisure Programs:

  • Register online. (Visa or MasterCard)
  • Dial 311, Mondays to Fridays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (Visa or MasterCard)
  • Visit your nearest Citizen Service Centre (Cash, Cheque, Debit, Visa or MasterCard)

Citizen Service Centres are open several evenings each week and on weekends. Hours vary by location. Please check the Greater Sudbury Public Library website for operating hours.

  • Complete a client registration form, available online or at your nearest Citizen Service Centre. If you are registering by telephone, a client registration form will be emailed or mailed to your address. Forms must be signed by a parent or legal guardian for registrants under the age of 18.
  • Some programs require registration at the municipal facility or with the community group offering the program. These programs are identified with the appropriate contact information.

To register online, you need:

  • A PIN (Personal Identification Number) for either yourself or your entire family and a Client ID number for each family member.
  • A Visa or MasterCard.

To get a PIN and Client ID Number:

  • Dial 311, Mondays to Fridays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or
  • email leisure.services@greatersudbury.ca. We will respond Mondays to Fridays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Go to www.greatersudbury.ca/register

  • Select your language of choice.
  • Select My Basket and enter your PIN and Client ID Number
  • Select Programs to search for your choice of activities.
  • Select Add to transfer your selections to My Basket.
  • To enroll a family member, choose a name from the Client Selection menu.
  • If a program is full, you can place a name on Wait List for future vacancies by selecting Go to Checkout.
  • Select Go to Checkout to submit payment. Full payment is required prior to the start of a program to confirm registration.
  • Print or Save your online confirmation form and receipt of payment for your records.

Cancellations and Refunds for all Leisure Programs:

  • The City of Greater Sudbury reserves the right to cancel programs at any time.
  • If a program is cancelled, registrants are eligible for a full refund or a transfer of paid funds to another program of their choice.
  • If program activities are significantly different from those described during registration, registrants are eligible for a full refund at the start of the program.
  • If a registrant must withdraw from a program for medical reasons, either a full or prorated refund, minus an administrative fee of $12.00, will be provided upon approval of the City of Greater Sudbury. A medical certificate may be requested.
  • If participants wish to transfer to another program, the City of Greater Sudbury will refund the difference of the program cost, if applicable, minus an administrative fee of $6, upon approval.
  • Advising an instructor, facility staff member or not attending classes is not considered notice of program withdrawal.
  • The effective date of refund is the date that notice is provided to the City of Greater Sudbury, regardless of the date the participant stopped attending class.
  • In the event a registrant is unable to attend a scheduled class, make up classes, refunds or credits for missed classes will not be provided.
  • Refunds are issued only to the original payee.
  • Materials purchased for scheduled programs are not eligible for refund.

Cancellations and Refunds for Scheduled Programs and Group Lessons:

  • Requests for refund received by the City of Greater Sudbury at least 10 business days in advance of a scheduled program or group lesson start date are eligible for full refund, minus a $12 administrative fee.
  • Requests for refund received by the City of Greater Sudbury less than 10 business days in advance of a scheduled program or group lesson start date, or when less than 25 per cent of scheduled session dates have passed, are eligible for a prorated refund, minus a $23 administrative fee.
  • Requests for refund received by the City of Greater Sudbury when more than 25 per cent of scheduled session dates have passed are not eligible for reimbursement, except under extenuating circumstances. A medical certificate may be requested to substantiate a request for refund due to medical circumstances.

Cancellations and Refunds for Private Lessons, Semi-private Lessons and Personal Training:

  • Requests to cancel private or semi-private lessons must be received by the City of Greater Sudbury in writing, at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled lesson, to be eligible for a refund or credit, subject to a $12 administrative fee for rescheduling.
  • Requests to cancel private or semi-private lessons received by the City of Greater Sudbury less than 48 hours in advance of the scheduled lesson are not eligible for refund or credit, except under extenuating circumstances. A medical certificate may be requested to substantiate a request for refund due to medical circumstances.

Cancellations and Refunds for Memberships, Season Passes and Punch Cards:

  • Requests for refunds are not eligible for refund or credit, except under extenuating circumstances. A medical certificate may be requested to substantiate a request for refund due to medical circumstances.

Cancellations and Refunds for Summer Playgrounds and Day Camps:

  • Requests for refund received by the City of Greater Sudbury at least 15 business days in advance of a playground or camp start date are eligible for a full refund, minus a $23.00 administrative fee.
  • Requests for refund received by the City of Greater Sudbury less than 15 business days in advance of a playground or camp start date are not eligible for refund, except under extenuating circumstances. A medical certificate may be requested to substantiate a request for refund due to medical circumstances.

How to Request a Refund or Program Transfer:
