Hot In-Place Asphalt Recycling

Note this project has been delayed. ENG-21-38 HIR Kingsway Report
The City of Greater Sudbury will be completing road improvements on the Kingsway between Highway 17 Bypass and 400m south of Second Avenue, Sudbury.

This project is part of the Council-approved pilot project for hot in-place recycling of the existing asphalt pavement. This process is an on-site, in-place method that rehabilitates deteriorated asphalt pavements, minimizing the use of new materials and extending the asset life.

Construction by the City’s Contractor, Road Surface Recycling Limited will begin June 2023 and is expected to be completed by August 2023.
Work will typically take place during daylight hours Monday to Saturday.

During construction, there may be dust and noise in the area. The City makes every effort to reduce the impact to nearby residents and business owners. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve the roads and infrastructure in your neighbourhood. The City of Greater Sudbury and its contractors are committed to public safety and will monitor the ongoing progress of construction.
