Set up a Pre-Consultation
Pre-consultation on your application will help you make sure you understand the process, timelines, and help you get all of the information you need to ensure your application is complete when you submit it to the City.
A pre-consultation application is recommended for the following types of applications:
- Official Plan Amendments
- Rezoning (excluding temporary rezonings, removing “H” holding provisions and rezonings imposed as a condition of a consent)
- Subdivision Plans
- Condominium Plans
- Site Plans

Please note the City reserves the right to schedule any application to a subsequent meeting date.
The Sudbury Planning Application Review Team (SPART) made up of City staff from various departments will review your application.
- You will be invited to attend the SPART meeting on applications that are for a plan of subdivision, or site plan. This will be your pre-consultation meeting with the City.
- On applications for official plan amendment, rezoning or condominium you will be contacted by the planner assigned to your file to have a pre-consultation meeting with them, shortly after the SPART meeting has been held.
