Citizens Invited to Apply for Appointment to Arts and Culture Grant Juries

The City of Greater Sudbury recognizes the value that arts and culture contributes to the community with investments through the Arts & Culture Grant Program.  The Greater Sudbury Development Corporation (GSDC) is seeking 12 citizens for appointment to its two Arts & Culture Grant Juries to enhance the GSDC’s decision-making process through community engagement.

Council Adopts 2015-2018 Strategic Plan

The City of Greater Sudbury Council has approved a new Strategic Plan that is designed to create a bold, fiscally responsible, innovative, and responsive municipal government. The 2015-2018 Strategic Plan was adopted tonight at the regular meeting of Council.

City Hires New Chief Administrative Officer 

Following an extensive search, Greater Sudbury City Council is pleased to announce that it has selected Ed Archer, a former Northern Ontarian, as the City’s new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Mr. Archer brings with him considerable experience with municipalities and will transition from his current employer and will begin his new responsibilities with the City of Greater Sudbury on May 30, 2016.

City of Greater Sudbury Advises Residents to be Prepared for Spring Thaw

The City's operations crews are monitoring the spring thaw, storm sewers and roadside ditches en-route to the large watercourses found throughout the City. Operations crews have begun thawing frozen culverts, clearing storm grates and removing snow from ditches, as required, to minimize ponding issues.

City Seeks Musical Entertainers for Peter Schneider Concert Series

Local musical entertainers are invited to submit an application to perform during the annual Peter Schneider Concert Series held in Bell Park. The series is a free event and runs every Sunday from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. from June to August.
