Construction Startup Notice - January 19, 2026

Pavement Rehabilitation & Infrastructure Improvements, Elgin Street, Sudbury

The City of Greater Sudbury will be completing road and water/wastewater improvements on Elgin Street, between Elm and Brady Streets, in Sudbury.

Construction by the City’s contractor, Teranorth Construction & Engineering Ltd. will begin April 2026 and is expected to be phased over two construction seasons with completion expected July 2027.

Work will typically take place during daylight hours Monday to Friday. Weekend or night work may be required.

Final asphalt will be completed in 2027.

  • New asphalt and concrete curbs
  • Pedestrian walkways on both sides of the road
  • Cycle tracks
  • Intersection improvements at Durham and Elgin Streets
  • Watermain rehabilitation
  • Storm sewer replacement
  • Street lighting improvements
