Second Avenue, Sudbury

Project Update - July 28, 2026

Road Reconstruction

The City of Greater Sudbury is deferring planned road and water/wastewater improvements on Second Avenue, between Bancroft Drive and Kenwood Street.

On March 10, 2026, City Council approved the 2026 Road Rehabilitation Strategy through Resolution CC2026-61. The strategy supports Council’s strategic priorities for asset management and service excellence by directing available capital funding to projects that best support the long-term sustainability and performance of the City’s road infrastructure network.

As a result, the City is prioritizing road renewal projects across the community to maximize the impact of current infrastructure investments.

Engineering Services will continue to move this project forward by coordinating with utility companies, reviewing property requirements and refining the design over the coming months.

The project remains an important infrastructure investment for the community. Construction is anticipated to commence in 2027, pending budget approval.
