Season Start-up - April 17, 2026

Road Reconstruction
Ethelbert, Ernest and Maple Streets, Sudbury

The City of Greater Sudbury will be continuing road and water/wastewater improvements on Ethelbert, Ernest and Maple Streets in Sudbury.

Construction by the City’s contractor, GIP Interpaving Ltd. will begin May 2026 and is expected to be phased over two construction seasons with completion expected June 2027.

Work will typically take place during daylight hours Monday to Friday.  Weekend or night work may be required.

Final asphalt will be completed in Spring 2027.

Project Highlights:

Ethelbert Street from Spruce to Linden Streets:

  • Road Reconstruction with new asphalt, curbs and sidewalk
  • Watermain and Sanitary Upsizing
  • Storm Sewer Improvements 
  • Introduction of asphalt boulevard on the east side (odd numbered houses)
  • Active Transportation Improvements. Introduction of on street bike route

Ernest Street from Ethelbert to Spruce Streets:

  • Watermain replacement
  • Sanitary Sewer replacement and/or lining
  • New asphalt
  • Drainage Improvements

Maple Street from Ethelbert Street to the Cul-de-sac:

  • Watermain and sanitary sewer replacement
  • New Asphalt
  • Concrete Curb Replacement (where required)

Project Timeline:

  • Season Start-up - April 17, 2026
