Senior Playground Supervisor

Position Overview:

Senior Playground Supervisors prepare, organize, instruct, and supervise the daily summer program for all participants. They assist in the planning and delivery of Special Event Days, and ensure equipment is available and in safe working order. They also assist with the interview process and selection of junior staff members and provide direct supervision and regular feedback and guidance to all junior supervisors. 

Qualifications:

  • Currently studying or have completed the Teacher Education Program, Early Childhood Education, Social Worker or a related program.
  • Must have experience working with children between the ages of 5-14.
  • Some positions require bilingualism (English/French).
  • Must possess current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C from The Lifesaving Society, Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, Canadian Ski Patrol - or any other agency listed as an approved provider by the WSIB - and uphold these certifications for the period of employment.
  • Provide, at own cost, a Vulnerable Sector Check. (Note: This will be requested by the hiring manager if you are selected as the candidate of choice. Please do not include your Vulnerable Sector Check with your application.)
  • Must have a valid full G driver’s licence.
  • Staff in Playgrounds and Summer Camps are required to complete HIGH FIVE® Training. HIGH FIVE® training provides participants with nationally recognized certification that will assist them in working with children's programs in the sport and recreation industry. Rate of pay:

$19.89 per hour (effective April 1, 2026)

Hours of Work:

40 hours per week
