Position overview:

Engineering summer staff assist Construction Services with inspections, surveying assignments, traffic studies and other engineering duties. They assist in the review of completed designs, drawings, specifications and estimates for accuracy and adherence to current standards.  They work as a helping hand on road construction, helping the Field Inspector oversee multiple operations in the field.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid full G driver’s licence.
  • Must be taking an Engineering course in post-secondary education, preferably in Civil Engineering. Other engineering courses that may be considered include mechanical, electrical, environmental, aeronautical, chemical and computer.

Rate of pay:

$17.05 per hour (effective April 1, 2024)

Hours of Work:

  • 35 hours per week
  • 40 hours per week for Construction Services students
  • Evening and weekend work may be required
