Security
Position Overview:
Security summer staff assist with both foot and vehicle patrol of CGS parks and playgrounds in order to provide a proactive security presence, and also to detect and report security issues/concerns to the CGS Security Control Centre. They provide education regarding the parks By-Laws to those found in violation, lock gates and washrooms at assigned parks and playgrounds and assist Security Enforcement Officers, as required.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in or completed one of the following programs (or related) at an accredited Community College or University in Ontario:
- Protection, Security, Investigations
- Corporate Safety and Security
- Police Foundations
- Community and Justice Services
- Social Worker Program
- Law and Justice
- Criminology
- Social Worker Program
- Provide, at own cost, a Criminal Record Check. (Note: This will be requested by the hiring manager if you are selected as the candidate of choice. Please do not include your Criminal Record Check with your application.)
- Valid Security Licence. (Note: For information on how to obtain a security licence, please refer to the ServiceOntario Security guard or private investigator licence (individuals) website.
- Valid Ontario G driver’s licence.
Training:
- Prior to commencement of work, candidates must successfully complete the de-escalation training and Emergency First Aid Course (1 day).
