Sirens for Life
Sirens for Life is a national initiative that engages first responders across Canada to help save lives through blood and plasma donations, and by raising awareness for the importance of stem cell, organ, and tissues donations.
We invite you, our friends, families, and the public to join the “Greater Sudbury Paramedics” Team in a meaningful partnership with Canadian Blood Services to save lives and improve the health of so many others.
The following are questions you may ask yourself and we’ve got just the answers for you!
How do I join the “Greater Sudbury Paramedics” Team and contribute to the team’s total points for the campaign?
- Set up an account on blood.ca/SFL or the GiveBlood app for Apple or Android devices.
- Select “partners” from the menu.
- Select “join a team” and enter your team’s name – Greater Sudbury Paramedics
- Select the team you wish to join.
- Book your next appointment with your Team via “team bookings” or individually
All your donations will count towards your Team’s total points for the competition. You can also follow the progress of the team on your app/online account.
What should I do prior to donating plasma?
- Once you book your appointment, you will receive a questionnaire to fill out 24 hours prior to your appointment time. Fill it out with honesty and you will receive a bare code that you’ll have to scan upon your arrival.
- Drink plenty of water the day before, the day of your donation, and make sure to eat a good, healthy meal in the hours before you donate.
- Once you arrive to donate, relax and let the team at Canadian Blood Services guide you along the plasma donation process.
- Once you’re done donating, you’ll feel good knowing you just saved lives and rebook your next lifesaving donation.
Who’s eligible to donate plasma?
