Procurements Opportunities

The City of Greater Sudbury’s open procurement opportunities are exclusively posted on bids&tenders.

As per the City’s Purchasing By-Law, contracts with a total acquisition cost of $100,000 or greater (unless exempt in Schedule A of the Purchasing By-Law or approved as a single/sole source by City Council) must be conducted via open competition and in accordance with applicable trade agreements.

Viewing of current procurement opportunities is free of charge. To participate in a procurement opportunity, a one-time or annual subscription fee is applicable. Sudbury Regional Buying Group

The City of Greater Sudbury, along with other public sector organizations (currently: Cambrian College, Collège Boréal, Laurentian University, Rainbow District School Board, Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario, Sudbury Catholic District School Board, Counseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l’Ontario, Greater Sudbury Utilities, Health Sciences North, and Science North) are members of the Sudbury Regional Buying Group. Member Agencies realize savings by combining individual requirements and seeking bids for larger volumes of goods and services. If the City of Greater Sudbury participates in these joint procurement opportunities, they will be posted on bids&tenders.ca

Notice of Participation in Buying Groups

This posting is a public notification that the City of Greater Sudbury, including Pioneer Manor, Greater Sudbury Fire Services, Greater Sudbury Paramedic Services, the Greater Sudbury Police Services Board, Greater Sudbury Public Library Board, City of Greater Sudbury Community Development Corporation, Greater Sudbury Housing Corporation and Sudbury Airport Community Development Corporation, intends to participate in one or more cooperative procurements conducted by the following Buying Groups:

Tenders must be submitted on forms provided by the Corporation, in a sealed envelope using the completed label sheet provided, to the City of Greater Sudbury, Supplies and Services Department, Second Floor, Tom Davies Square:

Construction Works
The construction works include the following approximate quantities:

• Demolition, removals, and disposal of existing piping, valves, fittings, flow meter and hydropneumatic tanks
• Remove and replace existing sump pump and associated piping
• Demolition, removals, and disposal of existing electrical equipment
• Removal and salvage of existing pumps
• Supply and installation of auxiliary bypass
• Supply and installation of submersible pumps, piping and valves in dry well
• Supply and installation of variable frequency drives (VFD) and soft starter
• Supply and installation of pressure transmitter and flow meter
• Replace ventilation system in wet well
• Replace existing dry well exhaust fan
• Supply and install electrical service and hydro meter
• Supply and install electrical equipment, transfer switch, instrumentation and unit heaters
• Supply and install PLC panel and control system
• Replace lift station lighting
• Supply and install interior concrete block wall and exterior door
• Modifications to wet well handrail and grating

Tender documents and drawings may be downloaded free of charge from the City of Greater Sudbury’s (City) website http://www.greatersudbury.ca/tenders or may be picked up at the City of Greater Sudbury, Engineering Services Division, Third Floor, Tom Davies Square, 200 Brady Street, Box 5000, Station A, Sudbury, Ontario, P3A 5P3, on November 14, 2017, upon receipt of a non-refundable payment of $90 (includes H.S.T.).  Tender documents may also be viewed at the same location.

Prequalification

Bidders must prequalify and the deadline to apply for prequalification is 12:00 Noon, November 22, 2017.

Only bids from prequalified Bidders and have attended the Mandatory Tender Information Meeting, will be considered.

Tender Information Meeting- Mandatory

A Mandatory Tender Information Meeting will be held on November 21, 2017, at 1:00 PM, in Committee Room C-13B, Tom Davies Square, 200 Brady Street, Sudbury, Ontario, immediately followed by an Optional site visit.

Deadline for Questions

The Deadline for questions is 12:00 Noon, November 23, 2017.

Tender Opening

Tenders will be opened publicly at 2:30 PM, on November 28, 2017, by the Tender Opening Committee, in Committee Room C-13A, Tom Davies Square, 200 Brady Street, Sudbury, Ontario.

Tender award and completion dates are subject to receipt of MOECC approvals.
