Springtime Street Sweeping in Greater Sudbury

Street sweeping operations have begun in the City of Greater Sudbury. City crews have started sweeping sidewalks, boulevards, medians and some streets throughout the city. Currently, business centres, and the Sudbury Rocks Marathon routes are areas of high priority, but once those areas are cleaned, crews will continue to sweep other parts of the city.

City of Greater Sudbury Honours Its Volunteers

The Greater Sudbury Civic Awards, which recognize individuals and groups who consistently give back to the community, were presented to two youth recipients, five groups and 13 individuals in a ceremony at Tom Davies Square last night.

Traffic Update

On April 16, traffic will be affected due to paving at 463 Falconbridge Highway's west curb lane from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at Gemmell at Barry Downe Road from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Traffic control will be in place during those times.

City Supports Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation Project

The City of Greater Sudbury Council and the Greater Sudbury Development Corporation (GSDC) tonight approved $1 million in funding for the Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation (CEMI) Commercialization Attainment Program (CAP).

On April 15, from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. traffic will be affected in front of 990 on the Kingsway due to paving work. Traffic control will be in place during those times.

Greater Sudbury Council Adopts Open Data Policy

Greater Sudbury Council has voted to adopt a policy and licensing standards that will open municipal datasets to the public at no charge for reuse with minimal restrictions. An open data portal will be available online at www.greatersudbury.ca/opendata in mid-2015 for downloads of data in machine-readable formats.

Traffic Update - Kalmo Road

Kalmo Road Bridge has been closed due to rising water levels. Barricades have been placed in the area until water levels recede. Detours signs are being placed at Kalmo Road at Main Street and Bodson Drive West at Notre Dame Avenue in Val Caron.

On April 14, from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. northbound lanes at 1730 Regent Street will be affected due to paving. Traffic flow will share the south bound lanes.
