Casting your ballot
In the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election, voters can cast their vote online or by traditional paper ballot.
Whether you’re voting online or in person, your Voter Information Letter (VIL) provides important information about casting your ballot. More information about what to do if you do not receive a VIL.
Electronic Voting
Electronic voting opens on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 10 a.m. and will remain open until 8 p.m. on Election Day, Monday, October 26, 2026.
During this time, you can cast your ballot online 24 hours a day, seven days a week, using your VIL, which includes the link to the online voting system and a personal identification number (PIN).
Paper Ballot Voting
The City of Greater Sudbury uses a "vote anywhere" model for paper ballot voting. You do not need to attend a specific voting location. You can vote at whichever location is most accessible or convenient for you.
Advance voting days will be held October 17 and 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at four locations.
On Election Day, Monday, October 26, 27 voting locations will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
