City of Greater Sudbury Final Frozen Water Service Update: Monday, April 13, 2015

The City of Greater Sudbury is pleased to advise residents that the number of new frozen water service calls has returned to normal volume for this time of year.

To date, 639 residents with frozen water lines have been thawed by City crews and contractors, not including those who are receiving water through a bibbing system. There are currently 91 property owners on a bib system.

Those who are bibbed and find their lines have naturally thawed are encouraged to contact the City so a new reading can be taken and the bibbing can be removed. It is expected the number natural thaw cases to increase significantly over the next few weeks, mainly due to consistent temperatures above zero.

The City would like to thank residents for their patience as we have worked to restore water to those with frozen lines. Residents who have been asked by the City to keep their water running should continue to do so until they are told otherwise; which will likely be sometime in May.
