Ride the Bus to Lake Laurentian Conservation Area this Summer

Greater Sudbury Transit is extending public transit service to the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area, Mondays to Fridays, starting Wednesday, July 2 to August 22. Riders are asked to board Route 500 University for transportation to wilderness trails and scenic lookouts. The bus carries two “rack and roll” bicycle racks for cyclists to enjoy a 65 km trail system. Regular fares apply.

“Citizens told us they want easier access to the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area and Greater Sudbury Transit has provided the means,” said Lin Gibson, Chair of Conservation Sudbury. “We are pleased we can offer public transportation on a trial basis this summer to gauge public interest in the route.”

The Monday to Friday Route 500 departs the Downtown Sudbury Transit Terminal at 7:45 a.m., 9:45 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 1:45 p.m., 3:45 p.m. and 5:45 p.m., arriving at the Lake Laurentian Conservation Area at 8:10 a.m., 10:10 a.m., 12:10 p.m., 2:10 p.m., 4:10 p.m. and 6:10 p.m. Buses arrive back at the Downtown Transit Terminal at 8:45 a.m., 10:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 2:45 p.m., 4:45 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
