The GOVA Pass Smart Card will be available June 1, 2026!
Whether you're a regular rider or new to the system, the reloadable GOVA Pass card makes your transit experience easier, faster, and more convenient. With a simple tap, you can securely pay your fare when travelling on the GOVA Transit conventional system. Paper magnetic fares are being phased out and replaced by smart cards and the GOVA Pass mobile app.
For a limited time from June 1 to June 12, smart cards are free with the purchase of a 6 Ride or 31 Day Pass.
After June 12, all smart cards will be subject to a one-time $5.25 fee. The GOVA Pass smart card is reusable, meaning you only need to purchase the card once and simply reload it as needed.
Adult fare riders can obtain a card at the Downtown Transit Hub Kiosk, any Citizen Service Centre, or a Library. Concession fare riders must visit the Downtown Transit Hub Kiosk in person to verify eligibility before receiving a card.
From June 1 to June 12, GOVA Transit Ambassadors will be available to assist passengers with setting up concession accounts, obtaining a new card, and answering questions about the smart card and mobile app.

Paper fare products will no longer be sold after May 30, 2026, but will be accepted until December 31, 2026.
