Laurentian University U-Pass

U-Pass Validity Period 

August 23, 2025 to April 30, 2026

Eligibility

The SGA/GSA Student Associations form part of the 2025/2026 U-Pass agreement.  SGA/GSA students must present their Laurentian Student ID card upon boarding. 

The AEF is not a part of the U-Pass agreement. AEF students may purchase Transit Photo ID, which will allow them to purchase a student pass through the Downtown Transit Hub kiosk. 

Fraudulent Use 

Fraudulent use of a U-Pass will result in the loss of GOVA Transit privileges for the remainder of the school year or the following school year. Fraudulent use includes:

  • Allowing another student to use your U-Pass
  • Failing to present your U-Pass to a bus operator
  • Altering the U-Pass to access GOVA Transit
  • Attempting to use, or using another student’s U-Pass to access GOVA Transit
  • Possessing or using a U-Pass that does not belong to you

Any attempt to use a student ID as a transit pass by a Laurentian University student who is not eligible for the U-Pass program will be treated as fare evasion. Instances of fare evasion and misuse of transit ID/passes may result in pass confiscation or denied access to service under the Trespass to Property Act:
