Transit Photo ID
Pursuant to the City of Greater Sudbury's User Fee By-law, proof of eligibility is required to purchase reduced transit fares concession, student, senior and youth bus passes and ride cards.
Customers eligible for reduced fares must visit the Downtown Transit Hub kiosk in person to verify eligibility and have to obtain a GOVA Transit Photo ID. For GOVA Pass smart card users the Transit Photo ID will now be printed on the back of their card. GOVA Pass mobile app users will find their ID under the Settings section of their app.
A valid, non-transferable GOVA Transit Photo ID is required and must be presented at the time of both purchase and boarding.
Transit photo ID and the associated fare products can be used only by ID holder.
Transit passes are non-refundable and are the property of the City of Greater Sudbury. Fare Evasion, failure to present transit ID, or misuse of transit ID/transit passes or misuse, alteration or reproduction of GOVA Passes or alteration of phone settings may result in immediate pass confiscation, account deactivation or denial of access to service under the under the Trespass to Property Act.
Proof of eligibility is required for reduced concession fares. A non-transferable GOVA Transit photo ID is required and must be presented at the time of boarding. Violations of this policy will result in permanent confiscation of the transit pass. GOVA Transit is not responsible for lost or stolen ride cards, passes, GOVA Pass smart cards or GOVA Transit photo ID.
