Laurentian University U-Pass

The Universal Transit Pass (U-Pass) provides eligible Laurentian University students with unlimited travel on GOVA Transit throughout the academic year. The U-Pass provides eligible students with convenient, affordable, and unlimited access to GOVA Transit throughout the academic year.

    U-Pass Validity Period 2026-2027 Academic Year

    August 29, 2026 to April 30, 2027

    Eligibility

    The SGA, GSA and AEF Student Associations are participants in the 2026-2027 U-Pass program.

    Eligible students must:

    • Be registered through a participating student association
    • Present their Laurentian University student card while using their GOVA Pass

    Students who are not part of a participating student association are not eligible to use the U-Pass program.

    Accessing Your U-Pass

    The Laurentian University U-Pass is provided exclusively through the GOVA Pass mobile app together with the holder’s valid Laurentian University student photo identification and is not available as a physical pass. Eligible students receive an invitation by email to register their account using their Laurentian University email address. Once registration is complete, students can sign in to the GOVA Pass app and access their U-Pass through their digital wallet.

    Using Your U-Pass

    To travel with GOVA Transit, students must:

    1. Access their U-Pass through the GOVA Pass mobile app.
    2. Activate the pass when boarding.
    3. Scan the displayed QR code at the farebox.
    4. Present their Laurentian University Student ID card to the Bus Operator.

    Fraudulent Use 

    The U-Pass is non-transferable and may only be used by the student to whom it was issued. Fraudulent use of a U-Pass may result in the loss of GOVA Transit privileges for the remainder of the current school year or the following school year.

    Examples of misuse include:

    • Allowing another person to use your U-Pass
    • Using a U-Pass that does not belong to you
    • Altering a U-Pass
    • Attempting to use another student's U-Pass
    • Failing to comply with program requirements

    Any attempt to use a student ID as a transit pass by a Laurentian University student who is not eligible for the U-Pass program will be treated as fare evasion. Instances of fare evasion and misuse of transit ID/passes may result in pass confiscation or denied access to service under the Trespass to Property Act:
