Recycling Locations

Residential and non-residential roadside waste collection services will be rescheduled. Please do not place garbage, green carts or blue boxes at the roadside, as this may impact road clearing efforts. Alternate pickup dates will be communicated once available. We will provide an update once bulky item collection service has been restored.

Due to the winter storm event, furniture, appliance and electronic collection services are also temporarily suspended. Please do not place these items at the roadside, in laneways or on top of snowbanks, as they may impact snow clearing operations.

New Green Cart requests have also been suspended.

All landfill sites and the Recycling Centre are closed.

Recycling Centre

The Recycling Centre is located at 1825 Frobisher St., Sudbury.

Office Hours (service counter):

  • Monday to Friday: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: 7 a.m. to noon.
  • Purchase organics kitchen collectors or backyard composters while supplies last at this service counter. Call to inquire about stock before making the trip.
  • Note that Blue Boxes are no longer provided by the City or at this location. Roadside recycling containers can be purchased at retailers.

Recycling Plant Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: 7 a.m. to noon.

Drop-Off Depot Hours (to drop off Blue Box recyclable materials):

  • Open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Recycling Diversion Areas

Each of our landfill and transfer sites has a waste diversion area where you can drop off recyclables.

Make sure you sort your recycling and place it in the appropriate drop-off area.
