If your private well or point water system may be contaminated

Flooding can compromise private wells and point water systems.

• Stop using the water if you think it may be contaminated.
• Contact Public Health Sudbury & Districts for guidance.
• Watch for City updates about temporary access to safe drinking water or showers, if those supports are activated.
• Bring your own containers if a public drinking water station is made available.
• Follow public health guidance before using your private well water again.

If flooding affects private wells or point water systems, this does not necessarily mean the municipal water system is affected. If the municipal system is affected, the City will say so clearly in its communications.
