Spring Flooding

Spring Flooding

The City of Greater Sudbury is declaring a State of Emergency due to current conditions and projections from Conservation Sudbury. This declaration also allows the City to act more quickly by streamlining decision-making and ensuring we can respond as conditions change without delay.

Recent snowmelt and rainfall have led to elevated water levels across the community. A Flood Warning has been issued by Conservation Sudbury which indicates that flooding is imminent or already occurring in some areas. To see if your property may be at risk of flooding, enter your address on Conservation Sudbury’s Mapping Tool.

The City is actively responding with crews working 24/7 to monitor and manage municipal infrastructure, reducing the risk of system impacts where possible. Residents are urged to take precautions to protect themselves and their property.

This page provides updates on the City’s response, along with information on how to prepare for flooding and steps you can take to stay safe.

What is the City doing to mitigate the impacts of rising water levels?
