Residential Holding Tank Pump Out Rebate Program
Private property owners who do not have municipal wastewater services and use a registered sewage holding tank (not a septic field/tile bed system) may apply for a rebate after they have paid to have their holding tank evacuated by a licensed hauled liquid waste operator. Only holding tank owners may be eligible for the rebate due to the reduced cost of treatment ($19.48) for holding tank waste, which is more diluted. Applicants must complete the Approved Septic Holding Tank Pump Out Rebate Application Form to confirm eligibility and attach the invoice showing proof of full payment to the licensed liquid waste hauler
To be eligible:
- Proof of property ownership must be provided (i.e. tax bill)
- The location of the registered holding tank must be within the geographic boundaries of the City of Greater Sudbury.
- Property tax payments must be up to date.
- The holding tank is authorized and deemed appropriate for use by Public Health Sudbury and District
Licensed Hauled Liquid Waste Owners and Operators
Owners and operators of hauled liquid waste services in the City of Greater Sudbury are required to be permitted under the municipal Sewer Use By-law. Haulers are responsible to ensure waste is fully compliant with the terms and conditions of the application, the permit and the By-law.
