Outdoor Rinks

COVID-19 Update – June 11, 2021

As of Friday, June 11, Greater Sudbury will enter step one of the Province’s Roadmap to Reopen. The roadmap outlines a three-step plan to safely and gradually ease public health measures and reopen the province.

All indoor recreational facilities remain closed.

Play fields may now be booked for sports training for up to 10 people, with restrictions. For more information about booking, please contact 311 by phone or Live Web Chat (311.greatersudbury.ca). No games or practices are permitted.

As a reminder, these amenities are also open:

  • Splash pads
  • Municipal boat launches
  • Tennis, basketball and pickleball courts
  • Skate and BMX parks
  • Selkirk disc golf facility
  • Parks, playgrounds, trails and other open spaces

Users must maintain a distance of two metres from people who are not part of their household. A mask or face covering is recommended when physical distancing is a challenge. Benches, waste bins, gates, handrails and other surfaces are not sanitized.

Outdoor Rinks

Skate outside this winter at the Ramsey Lake Skating Path, Queen's Athletic Skating Oval and neighbourhood rinks!

March 10, 2021 - Due to mild weather, the Ramsey Lake Skating Path, Queen’s Athletic Skating Oval and municipal outdoor rinks are now closed for the season. We thank everyone for coming out and look forward to next year!

The French interface of our new registration system is still under development, however it is important that the City goes live with the new system as the existing registration and facility booking system is no longer supported by the vendor. Residents can still receive this service in French by calling 311 to have a French-speaking operator process bookings or registrations. The French interface will be launched in time for the fall/winter registration period.
