What Happens to Recyclable Material
Residential and non-residential roadside waste collection services will be rescheduled. Please do not place garbage, green carts or blue boxes at the roadside, as this may impact road clearing efforts. Alternate pickup dates will be communicated once available. We will provide an update once bulky item collection service has been restored.
Due to the winter storm event, furniture, appliance and electronic collection services are also temporarily suspended. Please do not place these items at the roadside, in laneways or on top of snowbanks, as they may impact snow clearing operations.
New Green Cart requests have also been suspended.
All landfill sites and the Recycling Centre are closed.
Do you wonder what happens to recyclable material collected and managed by the City?
- Your Blue Box / recyclable items are taken to the Greater Sudbury Recycling Centre.
- They are then sorted, baled and sold to buyers who will transform them into new items!
