Pick Up Times
You must follow the waste collection by-law when putting your items at the roadside for pick up. Put your items out at the times listed below to reduce human/wildlife interactions.
April 1 to November 30
- Put your garbage, recycling and green cart at the roadside between 5 and 7 a.m. on your pick up day.
December 1 to March 31
- Put your garbage, recycling and green cart at the roadside after 8 p.m. the night before your pick up day and no later than 7 a.m. on your pick up day.
All Year Round
- Place your leaf and yard trimmings at the roadside anytime after 8 p.m. the night before your pick up day and no later than 7 a.m. on your pick up day.
- Place your furniture, appliances and electronic items to the roadside on the same day that you submit your collection request on the Waste Wise App, online at greatersudbury.ca/wastewise or by contacting 311 by phone or live web chat (311.greatersudbury.ca). Make sure your items are picked up
- To make sure your garbage, recycling and green cart organics are picked up make sure they are at the roadside by 7 a.m. all year round as pick-up times may vary.
- Place your garbage, recycling and green cart in a visible location on the ground as close as possible to the road. Make sure they are not on the sidewalk, road, on top of snow banks or in an area that interferes with road or sidewalk maintenance crews.
- Read the instructions on acceptable garbage bags, bundles and containers as well as green cart acceptable bags, acceptable recycling containers and household hazardous waste.
