Can I choose where I want to live?

Yes. When you apply for housing, you will be asked where you want to live. 

You can choose more than one location. Your name will be added to the centralized wait list for each location where you are eligible.

How much rent can I expect to pay?

Rent-geared-to-income is based on approximately 30 per cent of your gross monthly income, or based on the rent scale if you are receiving assistance from Ontario Works or Ontario Disability Support Program.

Additional charges (such as utilities and more) may apply depending on the housing project you select.

Payments of spousal support will be deducted from your gross monthly income.

Household applicants in receipt of Ontario Works or Ontario Disability Support Program might have their shelter component adjusted based on the rent-geared-to-income subsidy being received.
