How to Use the Customer Service Portal

Option One: Submit an Online Service Request

Register to create an account

You must have an account to submit online requests for municipal services or information. You can submit Online Service Requests at any time.

Your personal contact information is used to create a customer profile to monitor, manage and process your requests for municipal service. We do not share your personal information with any other party nor use it for any other purpose.

  • Go to the City of Greater Sudbury Customer Service Portal at 311.greatersudbury.ca
  • Click Sign in or Register to create an account for online service requests.
  • CGS (City of Greater Sudbury) will send an email to your address so you can create a password for your account.
  • When you register for an Online Service Request account, you have the choice of receiving email or text updates as work begins on your request, progresses and concludes.
  • If you choose to receive updates by text, you will receive a confirmation by text. You must reply with “Yes” to receive updates.
  • Once you are registered, you can click Sign in or Register to update your personal contact information, view the history of your requests and change your password.

Submit an Online Service Request

  • Go to the City of Greater Sudbury Customer Service Portal at 311.greatersudbury.ca
  • Click Sign in or Register to enter your username and password.
  • Click the back button and return to Search popular requests for information.
  • You can type your question or request in the search bar or you can browse information by category. Select the topic that best matches your request.
  • We currently offer 28 municipal services for online service requests. If a related topic does not appear in popular requests for information, it is not currently available for online service.
  • Additional municipal services are available by clicking Chat Live with 311, dialing 311 (local) or 705-671-2489 (long distance) and emailing 311@greatersudbury.ca
  • Click the Submit a Request button and follow the steps to enter the address requiring municipal service and details about your request or question. You also have the option of attaching files or photos.
  • After you have entered required information, click Submit Service Request. You will receive confirmation and a reference number for follow-up. You can click My Service Request to provide updates.

Once your request is completed, you will receive an online Customer Satisfaction Survey. Your feedback is important to help us ensure the best possible service for residents.

Option 2: Request Service by 311 Live Chat or Phone

Chat Live with 311, telephone and email requests do not require an online account.

A Customer Service Representative will request your personal contact information to create a customer profile to monitor, manage and process your requests for municipal service. We do not share your personal information with any other party nor use it for any other purpose.

311 Live Chat: Available Mondays to Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Click Chat on the Customer Service Portal at 311.greatersudbury.ca
  • If the Chat icon does not appear, the service is temporarily unavailable.
  • During periods of high call volume, there may be a wait time to reach a Customer Service Representative.

311@greatersudbury.ca: Submit requests by email 24/7

After Business Hours: Dial 311 to speak with a live operator for urgent matters related to municipal infrastructure, dogs and cats.
