PSA - Re-Opening of Landfill Sites and Recycling Centers Next Week

The Sudbury, Azilda and Hammer landfill sites as well as the recycling center will open to all commercial haulers only beginning Monday, March 23 and will open for residential access on Thursday, March 26.

All regular tipping and gate fees will be in effect.

Wait times may be longer than usual at landfill sites and residents are encouraged to check the Sudbury landfill live stream camera to assess wait times before attending the site.

To reduce wait times, residents are encouraged to hold their waste until roadside collection resumes the week of March 30. Details regarding the resumption of roadside collection and temporary increased limits can be found here. Those who do visit the landfill sites are encouraged to support waste diversion efforts by separating their recyclable and compostable wastes.

The Walden Small Vehicle Transfer Station will remain closed to all users until further notice.
