PSA - City Prioritizing Safe Return to School

With schools resuming on Monday, the City has been working with all four school boards and the Sudbury Student Services Consortium to prioritize its snow clearing efforts in support of a safe return for students.

All identified school zones – areas around schools that will facilitate safe pick up and drop off – have been cleared. Crews are now actively clearing sidewalks along key routes within school walking areas.

The City is also collaborating with the Consortium to identify areas requiring road widening and additional clearing to support the safe return of school bus service. Decisions regarding school buses will be made and communicated by the Consortium.

While efforts continue across the city, not all sidewalks will be cleared by the start of week. Pedestrians and motorists are reminded to exercise extra caution on roads.
