Service and Payment Information During Canada Post Interruption

Oct 6, 2025

Due to the current Canada Post service interruption, the delivery of bills, notices and other municipal correspondence may be delayed. Residents are encouraged to access City services and make payments online or in person whenever possible.

Property taxes, parking tickets and other fines must still be paid by their set due dates. Please do not send payments by mail during this time.

Property Taxes

Invoicing will be issued once the postal interruption is over and due dates will be set accordingly.

Property tax payments can be made:

  • By telephone or via internet banking.
  • At most banks, trust companies, credit unions and Caisse Populaires.
  • Through your mortgage, arranged through your mortgage company.
  • By enrolling in a pre-authorized payment plan where payments are automatically withdrawn from your bank account either monthly or on the instalment due date.
  • In person at the One-Stop Services counter at Tom Davies Square or at a Citizen Service Centre.

Planning Applications

The City is currently unable to provide courtesy mailouts to property owners near properties subject to planning applications. Regular planning notices are published in Le Voyageur and The Sudbury Star and are available online at Pending Planning Applications and through our Development Application Map.

Provincial Offences Court

All trials and court appearances will proceed as scheduled.

Time-sensitive documents, such as requests for trial or early resolution meetings, must be hand-delivered, couriered or emailed.

Parking tickets must still be paid by their due dates.

Inter-Library Loan Service

As a result of the postal interruption, Greater Sudbury Public Library (GSPL) patrons should expect delays in the delivery of physical items through the Inter-Library Loan (ILL) service. Requests to extend due dates on items borrowed from other cities can be made by contacting the Library at 705-673-1155, ext. 4755 or ILL@greatersudbury.ca.

Printed communication from the library, including bills, will also be delayed. Please contact the Library to inquire about the status of your account or to change your notice preference to email or phone to avoid future disruption.
