Provincial Offences Court Temporarily Relocates to Support Downtown Development

Jul 30, 2025

As construction begins on Greater Sudbury’s transformative Cultural Hub, the Provincial Offences Court will temporarily relocate from Tom Davies Square to the Lionel E. Lalonde (LEL) Centre beginning September 29, 2025, for approximately two years.

This temporary move is necessary to advance the Cultural Hub project — an initiative that will bring together key cultural and community services in a centralized, accessible location.

Every effort is being made to ensure uninterrupted access to municipal services during construction. Most services will continue to be offered at Tom Davies Square as usual. Updates will be provided if there are any changes to service locations.

Beginning September 29, all in-person Court proceedings will take place at the LEL Centre, located at 239 Montée Principale in Azilda. Virtual court appearances will continue to be available, ensuring ongoing flexibility and accessibility for the public.

The Provincial Offences Administration office will remain at 199 Larch St., Suite 102, where ticket administration and payments will continue to be processed as usual.

To support this transition, GOVA Transit is adjusting Route 104 Azilda–Chelmsford. Starting August 23, 2025, Route 104 Azilda-Chelmsford will travel a modified route along Montée Principale to improve access to the new court location. GOVA routes and schedules can be found at greatersudbury.ca/gova.
