Greater Sudbury Public Library Launches 2025 Summer Reading Club

Jun 24, 2025

The Greater Sudbury Public Library (GSPL) is offering a summer full of fun and learning. Starting Monday, June 23, children ages four to 12 and their families are invited to join the 2025 TD Summer Reading Club (SRC) - a city-wide celebration of books, imagination and summer adventures provided by TD Canada Trust.

This year’s SRC offers free literacy programming across all GSPL branches and Citizen Service Centres. With engaging activities, reading incentives and take-home kits, there’s something for every young reader to enjoy.

“Summer is the perfect time for children and their families to focus on reading and learning just for the fun of it!” said Mette Krüger, Manager of Libraries and Heritage Resources. “We are excited to welcome all children and their families to participate in the Summer Reading Club in a way that works for them, whether that's attending one of 70+ staff-led and facilitator-led programs, signing up for our reading incentive for a chance to win prizes as you read, or by engaging in play-based learning experiences at any of our 13 air-conditioned library locations.”

To participate, residents can:

  • Pick up a free SRC kit at any GSPL branch starting Monday June 23, 2025.
  • Register online using the unique access code found in each TD Summer Reading Club kit to track reading progress and explore digital content.
  • Sign up for special programs running from Monday, July 7 to Friday, August 22, 2025, including story times, hands-on crafts and creative play.
  • Earn prizes by reading throughout the summer.

Residents can also enjoy independent activities available in GSPL branches all summer long.

Whether you’re already a library member or signing up for a free library card for the first time, the SRC is the perfect way to stay engaged, meet new friends, and spark a lifelong love of reading. SRC weekly highlights, upcoming events and featured program information will be shared by GSPL social media accounts and online at www.sudburylibraries.ca/en
