The City of Greater Sudbury, in partnership with the Healthy Kids Community Challenge, is launching the Power Off and Play! initiative to encourage kids and families to build a balanced day by replacing screen time with more physical activity.

The City of Greater Sudbury and the Greater Sudbury Development Corporation, with support from key community partners including Wahnapitae First Nation and Atikameksheng Anishnawbek, are excited to deliver a compelling bid to host the proposed Noront Resources Ferrochrome Production Facility (FPF).

The City of Greater Sudbury, in partnership with the Healthy Kids Community Challenge, invites residents to a free outdoor family celebration on Snow Day, Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. near the Grace Hartman Amphitheatre in Bell Park.

Elm Street, between Ethelbert and Maclachlan, will be reduced to one lane in each direction on Monday and Tuesday, January 29 and 30, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day for road maintenance. Safe access will be provided for pedestrians at all times. Motorists should expect delays.

MR 80, Sudbury- Construction operations on MR 80, from Turner Avenue to 2.2 km north for the Maley Drive Extension Project will result in closures in both the northbound and southbound lanes from Friday, January 26

Residents are encouraged to provide their input on proposed improvements to the local public transit system, during the second phase of the Greater Sudbury Transit Action Plan.

Bancroft Drive, Sudbury- Demolition work will result in intermittent traffic delays to allow for the loading of dump trucks at 1500 Bancroft Drive from Monday, January 22 until Friday, January 26. Pedestrian access will be maintained on the south side of Bancroft Drive. Work will be done from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and traffic signs will be in place.

Due to milder weather, the City of Greater Sudbury has closed the Queen's Athletic Skating Oval. We will continue work on the surface of the rink so we can reopen it as soon as possible.
