What's Ahead: 2018 Greater Sudbury Construction Season

Improving the city’s roads continues to be one our top priorities, and in 2018 residents will see an investment of $60.2 million to repair and improve the city’s transportation network. Most of the work will include construction, road widening and intersection enhancements.

Residential Tipping Fee Holiday at Local Landfill and Waste Diversion Sites 

Residents are reminded that residential tipping fees will be waived at all Greater Sudbury landfill and waste diversion sites from Monday, May 7, to Saturday, May 12, 2018.
Greater Sudbury residents can deliver discarded household items to local landfill sites free of charge during the above-noted week.

Residents Advised of Potential for Low Water Pressure April 23 to April 25

Residents of Coniston, Wahnapitae, Markstay and Sudbury, including New Sudbury, may notice low water pressure on Monday, April 23 to Wednesday, April 25 during a scheduled temporary shutdown of the water main feed from the Wanapitei Water Treatment Plant for repairs.

Residents Invited to Be Part of Community Food Bank Survey

The City of Greater Sudbury is gathering information to better understand local awareness and use of community food banks. Residents are invited to participate in an anonymous online survey at overtoyou.greatersudbury.ca or on paper at Greater Sudbury Public Libraries and local food banks from Tuesday, April 17 until midnight on Monday, April 30.

Greater Sudbury Mayor Brian Bigger and City Council invite residents to sign a book of condolences for the family and friends affected by the tragedy in Saskatchewan on April 6, 2018 where a transport collided with a bus carrying members of the Humbuldt Broncos.

Traffic Update- Lorne Street

Lorne Street, Sudbury- Water main installation along the south side of Lorne Street will reduce traffic to one lane eastbound from approximately 135 m east of Martindale Road to 70 m west of Byng Street. Work will begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, April 16 and continue until 5 p.m. on Friday, May 4. Traffic control will be in place.
