Residents Invited to Provide Input on Proposed Naming of a Lane-Way at Pioneer Manor

Aug 21, 2014

The City of Greater Sudbury has received a request to name a lane-way “Promenade Diane Marleau Way” at Pioneer Manor, after Diane Marleau. Throughout the next 30 days, residents are invited to submit input regarding this proposal.
The honourable, Diane Marleau, who passed away from cancer, on January 30, 2013, served the people of Sudbury for close to 30 years, first as a city councilor, then as the Member of Parliament. From 1993 to 1999, she held the Cabinet portfolios of Health, Public Works, International Cooperation and Francophone. Diane Marleau, although born in Kirkland Lake, had been a resident of Greater Sudbury for almost 50 years.  She most wanted to be remembered for “fighting the good fight” and for serving the people of Greater Sudbury well.

The lane-way at Pioneer Manor is a private road that surrounds the Manor.
