Lane Closures for Sanitary Sewer Maintenance in Sudbury

Aug 8, 2014

The City of Greater Sudbury has contracted Capital Sewer Services Inc. to rehabilitate sanitary sewer mains in Sudbury. The contractor will use a trenchless technology which permits access to the sanitary sewer without the disruption of major excavation on municipal roads.

Work is scheduled between August 11 and September 30 through maintenance holes on the following roads. A minimum of one lane of traffic will remain open at all times:

Elgin Street between Massachusetts and Fir Lanes,
Beech Street between Frood Road and Durham Street,
John Street west of and including a portion of Paris Street, and
Wellington Heights north of Hyland Drive.
Work on Elgin, Beech and Paris Streets will be performed during the night so that maintenance holes can be covered to reopen traffic lanes during the day.

Residents and business owners in affected neighborhoods will receive notices hand delivered to their door advising of dye testing and restricted water use while work is scheduled in their area. Residents in areas with overnight construction may hear the sound of heavy equipment, including back-up signals, during the night.
