Step 3: Campaigning and Expenses

Once you have filed your Nomination Paper, you are officially able to begin campaigning for office and incurring campaign expenses. All candidates will receive access to the electronic candidate access portal, which will contain important documents and updates relating to the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election. For this reason, all candidates who register will require an email address to gain access to the Portal.

The City of Greater Sudbury is not able to provide advice to candidates, and we encourage candidates to review the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 to satisfy your obligations and responsibilities under the Act.
