How to Request a Refund or Program Transfer
Requests for refunds or program transfers must be made online via the Parks and Recreation Services Refunds portal.
General Information
- Requests for refunds received by the City of Greater Sudbury at least 10 business days in advance of a scheduled program or group lesson start date are eligible for full refund, minus a $16.50 administrative fee.
- Requests for refunds received by the City of Greater Sudbury less than 10 business days in advance of a scheduled program or group lesson start date, or when less than 25 per cent of scheduled session dates have passed, are eligible for a prorated refund, minus a $32 administrative fee.
- Requests for refunds received by the City of Greater Sudbury when more than 25 per cent of scheduled session dates have passed are not eligible for reimbursement, except under extenuating circumstances. A medical certificate may be requested to substantiate a request for refund due to medical circumstances.
- Requests to cancel private or semi-private lessons received by the City of Greater Sudbury, less than 48 hours in advance of the scheduled lesson are not eligible for refund or credit, except under extenuating circumstances. A medical certificate may be requested to substantiate a request for refund due to medical circumstances.
- If a request for cancellation is received for semi-private lessons, both participants must cancel.
- The City of Greater Sudbury reserves the right to cancel programs at any time.
- If a program is cancelled, registrants are eligible for a full refund or a transfer of paid funds to another program of their choice.
- If program activities are significantly different from those described during registration, registrants are eligible for a full refund at the start of the program.
- If participants wish to transfer to another program, the City of Greater Sudbury will refund the difference of the program cost, if applicable, minus an administrative fee of $8, upon approval. Requests must be made via the Parks and Recreation Services Refunds portal.
- Advising an instructor, facility staff member or not attending classes is not considered notice of program withdrawal. Notice must be made via the Parks and Recreation Services Refunds portal.
- Memberships, seasonal passes and punch cards are not eligible for reimbursement or credit except in exceptional circumstances. A medical certificate may be required to support a medical claim. Requests for refunds or program transfers must be made online via the Parks and Recreation Services Refunds portal.
- The effective date of refund is the date that notice is provided to the City of Greater Sudbury, regardless of the date the participant stopped attending class.
- In the event a registrant is unable to attend a scheduled class, make up classes, refunds or credits for missed classes will not be provided.
- Refunds are issued only to the original payee.
- Materials purchased for scheduled programs are not eligible for refund.
