Private Lessons
Private swimming lessons provide one-on-one instruction with a certified swim instructor. These lessons help children develop swimming skills at their own pace, with personalized feedback and focused support. Instruction may include skill development, stroke improvement, technique correction and confidence building. Available for Preschool 1 to Swimmer 6 levels. Participants must be 3 years of age and older.
Private Lessons are not available for Parent and Tot programs or for advanced Lifesaving Society courses, including Rookie Patrol, Bronze Medallion, National Lifeguard or instructor-level programs. If you require additional support or believe your situation may need special consideration, contact the pool directly to discuss alternative options.
Upon registration, you will need to complete a short questionnaire to provide details about your needs for your lesson. Note: Preferences are not guaranteed and depend on instructor availability, experience and language abilities (instructors may not be bilingual).
Lessons are 30 minutes, once per week, for the duration of the session block.
Registration Options: Online, call the pool directly, or attend in person at the pool. For contact numbers or addresses of specific pools, visit the Municipal Swimming Pools page.
There’s a new way to register for parks and recreation programs or book a facility. It’s easy to create an account! If you need help getting started, visit our Frequently Asked Questions page.
The French interface of our new registration system is still under development, however it is important that the City goes live with the new system as the existing registration and facility booking system is no longer supported by the vendor. Residents can still receive this service in French by calling 311 to have a French-speaking operator process bookings or registrations. The French interface will be launched in time for the fall/winter registration period.
