Landfill Fees

When you enter the landfill you will need to stop at the weigh scales. Be prepared to pay the $5 gate fee, in addition to applicable tipping fees, based on what you are bringing to the landfill. You can pay with cash, debit, Visa or MasterCard. Please note: You may be eligible for Tipping Fee Exemptions.

Most 2026 tipping fees are outlined in our fee list below (with the exception of when the scales are not operational - PDF, 57 KB). If you don’t see your items there, please check out our Items Without Tipping Fees to see if they qualify for disposal/recycling without tipping fees.

Sorting your waste prior to going to the landfill could save you money. Ask the scale attendant to help you reduce your tipping fees by taking multiple trips over the scale, or call 311 for more information.

If you want to avoid paying the landfill gate fee, see the many alternative and no-charge options on the Gate Fee page.

If you deliver a load of waste that is 50 kg or less in a one week period, then no tipping fees will be charged.

If you deliver a load of waste that is between 50 kg to 100 kg in a one week period, then the first 50 kg will be without tipping fees and the balance will be charged at the flat rate of $4.25.

If you deliver a load of waste that is over 100 kg in a one-week period, the first 50 kg will be without tipping fees. Any remaining amount will be charged at the tipping fee rate per tonne. ($135 per tonne or $13.50 per 100 kg).

Please note, your residential waste must be delivered by you in a private motor vehicle. We track these exemptions based on your vehicle license plate.
