Public Litter Containers
Residential and non-residential roadside waste collection services will be rescheduled. Please do not place garbage, green carts or blue boxes at the roadside, as this may impact road clearing efforts. Alternate pickup dates will be communicated once available. We will provide an update once bulky item collection service has been restored.
Due to the winter storm event, furniture, appliance and electronic collection services are also temporarily suspended. Please do not place these items at the roadside, in laneways or on top of snowbanks, as they may impact snow clearing operations.
New Green Cart requests have also been suspended.
All landfill sites and the Recycling Centre are closed.
Businesses/residents may not use the public litter containers for their business or household waste. Litter containers are for use by pedestrian traffic only.
Businesses/residents may not place their waste beside a public litter container for collection. Anyone who places waste at the roadside for municipal collection must register and pay for collection services.
Unauthorized placement of waste at the roadway, in laneways, in public litter containers, or in a private bin is prohibited and a chargeable offence under the waste management by-law.
